| May 19, 2008 | | Greenback gains in forex trading | The US dollar is making a comeback in currency trading on the FX market today as indicators seem to show that the US could avoid a recession altogether. Reuters reports that the economic bottom may be nearing:
The dollar rebounded from a
2-1/2 week low versus the euro on Monday after a key
forecasting gauge unexpectedly rose in April, suggesting that a
sharp economic downturn in the U.S. might be nearing a bottom.
The US dollar is also making gains against the Australian dollar in forex trading.
