| May 23, 2008 | | Eastern European currencies on the FX market | Eastern European currencies are doing well on the FX market right now. The Slovak koruna is one that is doing especially well against the euro in forex trading on the currency market.
The Slovak koruna has risen to a record. The koruna is so strong because it is expected to switch to the European common currency in January -- and a strong conversion rate is expected.
Slovakia is the second former communist country to adopt the euro, and received approval earlier this month (May 7). Since then, the koruna has been advancing in currency trading.
