US Dollar Drops in Currency Trading

The US dollar is faltering in currency trading on the FX market this morning. Indeed, worries over additional bank failures are mounting, in the wake of Lehman Brothers and Wachovia data from yesterday.

In FX trading with the greenback, it is important to note that these developments have many worried that there is more to the credit market crisis, and that it is about to reveal itself.

Reuters reports on the negative impact that risk aversion is having on the US dollar in currency trading:

"Rising risk aversion has been a dollar negative over the last few months because it implies the Fed will have to wait a little longer before it can start hiking rates," he added.
