U.S. Fed Leads the Way in Global Interest Rate Cut

Central banks around the world cut interest rates
The U.S. Fed is leading the way in a global interest rate cut designed to stimulate the world economy. The Federal Reserve has cut its own rate by 50 basis points, bringing the rate to 1.5 percent. Other central banks that have cut their rates include:
  • European Central Bank
  • Canada
  • Bank of England
  • Sweden
  • Switzerland
Yesterday, the Australian central bank slashed its rate by an entire percentage point.
